Fourth of July Weekend

Better late than never.  We had a great week while Ryan's mom was here visiting us and we also had a great fourth of July weekend.  Friday we drove down to the beach and a lot of other people had the same idea.  It was pretty busy but it didn't feel to over crowded or anything so we found a great spot and had a blast playing in the water and the muddy sand.  We kept laughing at Sawyer cause his swim trunks wouldn't stay up so his little bum was hanging out the whole time.  What made it even funnier is he got sand on his back which looked like hair and then he looked like a hairy old man with his bum hanging out of his pants.

Then on Saturday the fourth we had a great day shopping going to the movies to see UP which was hilarious with the kids.  Ever since Disneyland Caleb is scared of dark loud places so when we sat down in the theatre he was scared and keep saying he wanted to go home, after awhile he started liking the movie and he was fine but when it was all over and there was a lull in the sound Caleb said very loudly ok let's go home now.  Everyone in the theatre started laughing.  Sawyer did very well only because we bought an extra large jumbo popcorn and this kid was in heaven.  He just sat there on Ryan's lap totally chilled out eating hand fulls of popcorn.  I think he ended up eating more than half the tub and had butter grease all down the front of his shirt and if you tried to take his popcorn away he'd squawk at you.

After the movie we came home blew up the pool for the kids and lit our pathetic disposable grills (which we will never use again).  We totally looked like white trash but we had fun.  It was Sawyer's birthday on the 3rd so we celebrated on the 4th and made him some cupcakes.  I think he was still full from all the popcorn but he had fun making a mess.  Once we were done eating and the kids were done swimming we got everything cleaned up kids bathed, put Sawyer down for bed and then Caleb got to play with some sparklers (he calls them sparks) and pops.  So all in all we had a very fun filled weekend that we will remember for years to come.  When we can actually afford a grill and have a place for it we'll look back and remember that one time when we bought disposable grills for the fourth and laugh.  Although we're still laughing about them now.
